2026 in review

Boattin joined the Dash late in 2025 and came into 2026 looking to be the team’s starting left back. That never really came to fruition as Boattin missed the first three games of the season and didn’t make her first start until April 25. She would go on to make just 15 starts, splitting starts with veteran Allysha Chapman and rookie Leah Klenke before she moved to center back.

Boattin was okay in 2026, she just hasn’t broken out and taken the left back job like many thought after her move from Juventus. She finished with 6.2 recoveries per 90 this season, second most on the team, and averaged 7.2 defensive contributions. Going forward, the Dash probably expect more from the Italian. Boattin created 19 chances this season, tied with center midfielders Danny Colaprico and Maggie Graham.

Moment of the season

Boattin scored the first goal of her NWSL career on August 19 in the 5-0 win at Shell Energy Stadium over the Chicago Stars.

Looking forward

Boattin’s contract runs through next season. With Klenke seemingly now permanently at center back and Allysha Chapman’s future in question, Boattin looks to go into 2027 as the only left back on the roster. Boattin turns 30 in May and with her contract coming to an end, could the Dash look to sell her this offseason or next summer back to Europe? She is a player that could have multiple different paths in 2027.
