HOUSTON DASH HEAD COACH FABRICE GAUTRAT

On the match:

"Very tough game, obviously in altitude. Overall, our team battled really hard. That was one thing we talked about with our group, the ability to endure and go through stuff for the entirety of game. I thought players who came in really changed the game positively. Some solid performances across the board."

On Denver’s early goal:

"We just talked about our build up shape getting a little bit better. I felt that is what led to them (Denver Summit FC) being able to get more pressure. To be fair, Yaz (Yazmeen Ryan) hits a very good shot on goal from a very hard angle. As we tweak that, our build started getting better and better and we were able to have a little more possession."

On the response following Denver’s early goal:

"We've been putting a lot of work in the attacking half. I was really pleased because we created a lot of pictures that we have been trying to work on. I'm just really proud of the group in terms of what we did in regard to that. Some high-quality chances for sure."

On Linda Ullmark:

"I can't say enough, she's (Linda Ullmark) super solid for us. Great between lines, has learned and grown so much on the defensive side. I'm super proud of her and really pleased for her first goal."

On key moments:

"It's huge playing against a solid team (Denver Summit FC) in this place (Dick’s Sporting Goods Park) is not easy. Big players step up in big moments, and I think everyone did and especially Jane (Campbell) in that moment is huge for us."

HOUSTON DASH GOALKEEPER JANE CAMPBELL

On the match:

"Hard fought point on the road, we were bummed last week against DC (Washington Spirit) not to get a result. So, coming in here, getting a tie, getting a point on the road was huge. The last time we played Denver (Summit FC), we were just not ourselves. All credit to Denver but at the same time, I just don't think we were ourselves. We didn't have a good game. We came here wanting to put on a better performance for ourselves and for everyone watching. I think we did that. We had a few good chances at the end of the first half and at the end of the second half that could have gone our way, but didn't, but that's okay. I'm really proud of the group, good point on the road and now we're hopefully going to get a result on the road again against (Racing) Louisville."

On the team’s mentality:

"I just thought it was a really good response. The first goal happened for Denver (Summit FC) and it felt like moments later we put the ball in the back of the net. I thought that was a huge response from us. It's a huge growth moment for the team and even when Denver went up at halftime. We never lost faith in the game. There's 45 minutes left after halftime, and anything could have happened. Kudos to the whole team. We really kept grinding it out and trying to put together pictures that we've been working on the last few weeks. It's a huge growth moment for us not to get too down about just one moment. There's always moments in games that we can capitalize on, so I'm glad that we responded the way we did."

On the team’s huddle after conceding a goal:

"It can be anything, whether it's words of encouragement or today was a little more tactics minded and thoughts in that regard. We were trying to solve what Denver (Summit FC) was giving us. I thought they (Denver) did really well and they're really organized. So, they gave us a good problem to solve. We wanted to talk about a few tactical things and maybe some tweaks that we could have done or continue through the rest of the game. At the same time, when the goal was conceded, I don't think it was time to panic. It wasn't the 90th minute or anything like that, we had plenty of time and I think we just needed to calm our nerves. Again, kudos to the team for responding the way they did right after that."

On the last 10 minutes of the match:

"I thought the last 10 minutes were kind of a little chaotic from both sides. The ball was going back and forth like a ping pong match, but we had some chances that just barely missed a shot on frame from Kate Faasse or Linda (Ullmark). We would get a chance and then they (Denver Summit FC) would come right down our throats, and they would get a corner. The pressure was definitely building. At that time, we needed to learn from the Washington Spirit game last week where we gave up the tie. I think that was our fault. This game was just the mentality from everyone to secure the point and do anything we could to get a goal kicker, get the ball out of bounds for a throw or anything like that. It was definitely a group effort and lots of pressure that Denver put on us, but happy with everyone's performance."

HOUSTON DASH MIDFIELDER MAGGIE GRAHAM

On the match:

"It was a great game to get some points in. Of course, we would have loved to come out with a win, but a tie gives us some points. We had some great moments and hopefully we can build off of those and have a good performance next week."

On the Dash’s first goal:

"We've been spending the last couple of weeks really working on our timing for runs in behind and having that opposite side of the field join in for early balls into the box. It all kind of came together today for that first goal and even the second goal. I just got in behind and looked across and saw Linda (Ullmark) making the run and then a little bit of a battle in the box, but Kat (Rader) finished it off. We got the goal and it was great."

On the team’s mentality:

"We talked a lot before the game of being competitors and fighting through the struggles of the game. Even though we went down, we were never going to give up, and we were always working to get that next goal, especially after the first one. We responded right away and going into the second half, we responded pretty early. So, I think we just always wanted to kind of fight back, and we were trying to get that third goal, unfortunately didn't happen, but hopefully we'll bring that fire to the next game."

On Jane Campbell:

"Jane's (Campbell) been standing on her head the last couple of games, and we've been so impressed with her. She's our brick wall back there and honestly, I'm never really fearful when chances are happening because I know she's going to come up big. She means the world to our team, and I hope she continues to do well the rest of the year."
