HOUSTON DASH HEAD COACH FABRICE GAUTRAT

On the match:

“It was frustrating but I'm very proud of our players, they absolutely emptied the tank. They gave everything. A lot of things were outside of our control tonight and it's easy to focus on those things. All we can do is focus on what we can control. Everyone performed extremely well under the circumstances."

On substituting Avery Patterson:

"We were on a minute restriction. We had to be mindful of that. That's what it was. (Avery Patterson) couldn't play (the full match) and we had to respect that."

HOUSTON DASH DEFENDER AVERY PATTERSON

On the game:

“It was a disappointing result. We had a really good mentality coming into this game. Some of our big goals were starting off on the front foot and committing to how we wanted to press together as a unit. I think we executed that game plan really well. It was an unfortunate red card, but I am super proud of the fight that we put in."

On mindset on scoring in the opening minute of the match:

“One of our big goals was to come out quick and strong. I wanted to be aggressive in the final third. I saw an opportunity and took it."

On returning from injury:

“After a short (thigh) injury like that, it makes you more grateful and you put into perspective how much of a blessing it is to be able to put cleats on every day and play the sport that you love with the people that you care about. I'm happy to be back and contribute in any way that I can."

On the league break:

The break is coming at a good time for us to reevaluate and see how we can maintain that first half performance that was shown today and come out on the front foot in the second half. We came out a bit flat. They (North Carolina Courage) had a couple chances in the first minutes of the second half. So, evaluating and regrouping after the break will be great for us."
