The Houston Dash have traded midfiedler Barbara Olivieri to Boston Legacy FC for $100,000 in intra-league transfer funds. Boston will send $50,000 in intra-league transfer funds in 2025 and $50,000 in 2026. The trade also includes up to $30,000 in conditional expansion allocation money and $35,000 in conditional intra-league transfer funds from Boston.
The 23-year-old Olivieri joined the Dash in February 2023 from Monterrey in Liga MX Femenil. Before turning pro, Olivieri played two seasons collegiately at Texas A&M University. The Katy native was born and raised in the Houston area by two Venezuelan parents and plays for the Venezuelan National Team.
Olivieri spent three seasons with the Dash, appearing in 44 regular season games. She scored six goals and added four assists. Olivieri made ten starts this season before joining Venezuela for the 2025 Copa America Femenina. She did not return from the tournament and feature in any games for Houston, missing the last two with an excused absence.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Barbara for her time with the Dash and the passion she brought to our club,” President of Soccer, Angela Hucles Mangano said. “Barbara is a talented player with a bright future, and this move gives her an opportunity to embark on a new challenge.”
Boston Legacy FC is a new expansion club in the NWSL that will begin play in the 2026 season. Olivieri will join Tigres in Liga MX Femenil, on loan, until the Legacy begin NWSL play next spring.
