Houston Dash vs Bay FC staff picks

The Houston Dash return to Shell Energy Stadium looking for their first win since the summer break. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against Bay FC.

Rudy - 2-2 draw
(Record: 4-6)

Houston has shown a never-give-up attitude, consistently finding ways to score late in matches and salvage draws. I expect a similar outcome against a team that mirrors Houston in many ways. Hopefully, I’m wrong, and the Dash can find a victory at home to give the fans something to celebrate.

Dustyn - 2-1 Dash loss
(Record: 6-4)

The Dash need to start winning games, especially at home. But, they still struggle to score and Bay comes into this match in good form. If Houston doesn’t get three points tonight, the playoff chase might start to get out of reach.

Manny - 1-0 Dash win
(Record: 4-6)

The Dash return home for the first time since the restart with plenty of ground to make up. A win is crucial if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. Bay FC enter the match in excellent form, but they still have something to prove, as they haven't faced one of the league's top teams since the restart. Houston has the pieces to take advantage of that and come away with all three points—the question is whether they can put together a complete performance when it matters most.

Joey - 1-1 draw
(Record: 3-3)

Bay FC are climbing out from the depths of the NWSL table with two back to back impressive wins, but that comes to an end with they face a Dash team who have consistently been playing in close games of late. Expect the Dash to take a lead in this game and not see out the win as we’ve seen plenty of times in the past years from both Houston soccer clubs.

Diego - 2-1 Dash win
(Record: 4-3)

Bay FC are the most confusing team in the NWSL, with talent that should place them among the league’s elite. However, they find themselves closer to the bottom. Houston are in many ways the opposite spot right now. They’re a team expected to be at the bottom but yet are competing against top clubs, but with many of those coming in the form of draws or losses. I think Houston playing at home is going to move the needle ever so much and therefore will see Shell Energy get two Dash wins in a row.
