The Houston Dash put out their best performance of the season in a convincing 5-0 win over the Chicago Stars. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Jane Campbell - 8

Campbell made two saves on her way to a clean sheet. Her distribution was also really good, completing nearly 90% of the passes she attempted.

Lisa Boattin - 8

Boattin scored her first goal for the club, the fifth of the match for the Dash. Before that, she was involved up and down the left side all match.

Leah Klenke - 8.5

Klenke was a rock on the back line with 11 defensive contributions. She also hit some perfect long passes, including the one to Avery Patterson to set up the first goal of the match.

Natalie Hammond - 7

The rookie was solid in her first start. Starting two rookie center backs might seem sketchy but Hammond and Klenke held it down and kept Chicago scoreless.

Avery Patterson - 8.5

Patterson showed why she is arguably the best right back in the NWSL. Her run and assist on the first goal was very well executed. She almost scored too, waiting just a half second to late to get a shot away.

Danielle Colaprico - 7

Colaprico had just 38 touches but completed 21 passes. She picked up a yellow card for a harsh challenge, but that’s the kind of edge she brings to the team.

Maggie Graham - 7

Like Colaprico, Graham wasn’t involved much, with the Dash attacking most of the night on the wings. She still chipped in 5 defensive contributions as she is becoming very comfortable in the box-to-box role.

Linda Ullmark - 8

On the day she was named to the United States U20 World Cup roster, Ullmark had one of ther best games as a pro. She scored and was active all over the field.

Kat Rader - 9

The rookie is now up to 9 goals and proving that her finishing is among the best in the league. She took both her goals on the night very well. The flick over the defender and volley on her second goal were world class.

Kiki Van Zanten - 7.5

Van Zanten was very active in the attacking third and set up Ullmark’s goal with a great run and pass. On top of that, she does a lot of the dirty work to help Houston win the ball back high up the field.

Clarissa Larisey - 7.5

After her two goal performance on Sunday, Larisey was inserted into the starting lineup. She didn’t score in this match but was constantly running in behind the Stars’ defense and creating opportunities.

Substitutes

Kate Faasse - 7.5

Faasse came off the bench and was the third Dash rookie to get on the scoresheet. Her first-time finish was so well done.

Khyah Harper - 6

Harper was very active up and down the right side but she will want the breakaway back that she was unable to convert on.

Miljana Ivanovic - 8

She only played 30 minutes but Ivanovic showed what she can bring to the attack. Her pace and ability on the ball were evident as she collected two assists.

Sarah Puntigam - 6

Puntigam came on to see out the match and nearly scored, having her shot saved that looked destined for the top corner.

Cate Hardin - N/A

She came on late and had just 4 touches.

Head Coach

Fabrice Gautrat - 8.5

The Dash’s style of hitting balls over the top to run on to has never been as well executed as it was in this game. Gautrat, and the whole coaching staff, have to be given a lot of credit for the integration and development of the rookies. Six different rookies took the field for Houston in this match.
