The Houston Dash’s thin playoff hopes will likely be decided tonight at Shell Energy Stadium. We asked our staff for their predictions on the match against the Kansas City Current.
Rudy - 1-0 Dash loss
(Record: 6-16)
The Houston Dash are ten toes out of the playoff race, and even with a slim chance to sneak in, KC Current will likely end it. Unbeaten since May and dominant on the road, the Current have shown why they’re the NWSL’s top team. The Dash should wrap up a promising season with a loss in their final home match.
Dustyn - 2-0 Dash loss
(Record: 8-14)
Kansas City is just that good. They may be one of the best team’s this league has ever seen when 2025 is all said and done. Even if they play their reserves, with the Shield wrapped up, they are still super-talented and should leave Houston with yet another three points.
Manny - 4-0 Dash loss
(Record: 8-13)
The Dash are all but out of playoff contention and face Kansas City at the worst possible time. The Current are on a long unbeaten run and boast a deep squad capable of outplaying anyone, while for Houston, the question remains which version of the team will show up.
Joey - 3-1 Dash loss
(Record: 7-10)
The Dash’s already slim playoff hopes will vanish after being dominated by the league’s top team. Houston has yet to defeat Kansas City since Vlatko Andonovski took over as head coach, and that trend doesn’t look likely to change anytime soon.
Diego - no pick
(Record: 7-11)
