Houston Dash vs Kansas City Current staff picks

The Houston Dash are looking to close out their three-match homestand with a win. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against the Kansas City Current.

Rudy - 2-2 draw
(Record: 5-7)

The Houston Dash have historically struggled against Kansas City, including a 3-0 beatdown on the road earlier this year. But this KC Current team is in a new era under Chris Armas and is still trying to find the dominant form we saw from them last season. This is the time for the Dash to get points at home, but unfortunately, I think they’ll have to settle for just one when the final whistle blows.

Dustyn - 2-0 Dash loss
(Record: 7-5)

This is two tough matches in back-to-back weekends for Houston. Kansas City has been up and down this season but they’re better than the Dash, even without Temwa Chawinga.

Manny - 1-0 Dash win
(Record: 5-7)

The Dash need a bounce back game after their loss against Gotham. They were in the game for most of it but couldn’t get a goal. Now they have to face a banged up Kansas City side without Temwa Chawinga. Usually, KC isn’t themselves without Chawinga so this could be an advantage for Houston. They should take their opportunities and get a result against this side.

Diego - 1-0 Dash win
(Record: 5-4)

The Dash looked to be on an upward trajectory and gave fans another tightly contested game against Gotham, however they weren’t able to put away the few chances and picked up a loss. The Dash need to display they can provide these good results against top teams and Kansas City is a perfect example of a game they can get a statement win out of.
