HOUSTON DASH HEAD COACH FRAN ALONSO

On the match:

“I don't think we were overplayed. I don't think we were out of the game. We were in the game until the end. We were pushing to try to score at least the equalizer but yeah, it's disappointing because we really wanted to win this match. The last two previous games were a draw, but you know, it was two positive results in terms of steps in the right direction and I thought today, I really thought that we would play our game and get these three points. So, that is disappointing.”

On what is next for him and his staff as they prepare for Angel City:

“The players are off tomorrow, but the technical staff are not, we are analyzing the game so that the following day when they come for training we show them what we did well in this game. We've got some positives but also what we need to work on. We train on Friday and then traveling and flying. So the schedule is, as you know, very tough. But it's tough for everyone. If I look at the team, you know there's so many tired players and you know a lot of tired legs, a few injuries so we will have to see where we are. We need to be stronger, we need to rotate the squad like we normally do and hopefully learn from our mistakes and hopefully get a good performance in the next game. It's not easy because the players worked hard. You know, we gave a lot. We really, really want to please our fans. The good thing is we were given three days to prepare for our next opportunity to make up for it.”

HOUSTON DASH DEFENDER NATALIE JACOBS

On the game:

“We want to get the win every time we play. So, we’re always going to be disappointed when we don’t get any points. There were moments that will give us motivation moving forward, some combination plays, but we need to create a little more and finish them to get some points in these games. We believe in the process, and it will take some time, but I believe we’re going to get there.”

On conceding the goal:

“Obviously, we want to start off strong and lead (the game) as quickly as we can. We have to push a little bit more after that (conceding) happens, we want to start strong, so we don’t find ourselves in a position where we need to come back every game.”

On the quick turnaround to Sunday’s match:

“The cool thing about this group is we trust everyone in the squad. Rotations are happening, everyone is playing a part and doing their job. It's a lot of games and it's a quick turnaround but everyone is playing their part.”
