The Houston Dash face another tough test as they host San Diego Wave FC at Shell Energy Stadium. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match.

Rudy - 1-1 draw
(Record: 3-7)

The Houston Dash showed improved organization against Orlando Pride coming off the international break—a promising sign of progress. However, their attack still lacks urgency and creativity in the final third. With that in mind, expect a tight, hard-fought match against a dangerous San Diego Wave side.

Dustyn - 2-0 Dash loss
(Record: 3-7)

I still don’t see where and how this team generates any offense. San Diego doesn’t have that problem.

Manny - 1-1 draw
(Record: 4-6)

Despite the last-minute loss to Orlando, the Dash delivered a strong defensive performance and will need to replicate that effort against a fast-paced San Diego Wave team. It’s a tall order, especially given Houston’s ongoing struggles in the attack—outscoring a high-powered Wave side may be out of reach unless the offense can step up.

Joey - 3-1 Dash loss
(Record: 3-6)

San Diego have been in very good form since the middle of April, only dropping one game, against Seattle. The Dash at this point still have no clue who they are and should comfortably lose to a playoff bound San Diego side.

Diego - 2-0 Dash win
(Record: 4-5)

The Dash are coming off an impressive performance that ended in late heartbreak, conceding a 90+9th minute winner to the Orlando Pride. Despite the result, Houston showed defensive grit and should carry that momentum into their final home match before the summer break. San Diego won’t be an easy challenge—they’re riding a strong wave of momentum (pun very much intended)—but this could be a moment for the Dash to rise to the occasion and capture a crucial three points.
