HOUSTON DASH HEAD COACH FABRICE GAUTRAT

On Clarissa Larisey’s debut:

“She (Clariss Larisey) was lively. She got behind and created a foul pretty quick after she came in. Exciting stuff from her, we’re excited to get her incorporated with what we’re doing.”

On the lineup change:

“Evelina (Duljan) had been starting the first three games and Messiah (Bright) comes on after. We looked at training this week and a number of things and felt that Messiah gave us the best chance tonight, especially in relation to everyone else as a front three. Today, we probably created more chances than we ever did this year.”

On the defense:

“I thought our backline was far more aggressive than it has been earlier in the season. It is very intentional. They’re putting in so much work and I’m really pleased with it, especially the possession piece.”

On his message to the team:

“I told them that there are a lot of positives to the draw. Obviously frustrating from the result and for us to concede, but still a lot of positives. To leave here knowing we dominated the game. It’s a good step in the right direction of where we want to go since the break.”

HOUSTON DASH FORWARD YAZMEEN RYAN

On the match:

"I think it was definitely a better overall performance than our last game. We kept possession, looked more dangerous and that’s the team we want to be. That’s how we want to play from now on. It’s disappointing not to get three points, but we just have to build on top of today and keep going."

On takeaways and moving forward:

"It’s about punishing and capitalizing on the opportunities we create. With our high press and winning the ball up the field, we have to punish teams or else this is the result, and those teams can come back. I think we've done well at capitalizing on chances over these past couple of games. Especially coming into the second half of the season, that's what we have to continue to push forward."

On the team’s chemistry:

"The way we train and the things we do in training plays a huge role in our chemistry as a team. Being able to actually apply those things in games, knowing what we’re doing, and going for it has been huge."

HOUSTON DASH FORWARD CLARISSA LARISEY

On her debut:

"Honestly, it was such a pleasure. I have heard so many good things about this league and I know how tough it is, so for me, I was happy to get minutes. Even though we fell short. Overall, I am happy that we got a point."

On Fabrice Gautrat’s message to her today:

"Just have fun and do what you can. It was to do whatever you can in the moment and to put everything on the line. I was trying to do that as much as I could. I have had a solid week with the girls and got to know them a little bit on and off the pitch, they were excited for me to make my debut."

On what she has done to get acquainted with Houston:

"Houston's a little special when it comes to the heat. Being in it every day has already helped and I am adapting to it. I feel like the players, coaching staff, and everyone involved with the Houston Dash have been so incredibly welcoming and helpful with everything I need, especially with coming in halfway through the season. It is a lot at first, but everyone has been doing so well with getting me up to speed. The momentum is going up for us, and again, with this tie, it is better than losing. We are really happy with getting the point and looking forward to improving for the next game."
