The Houston Dash were beaten 1-0 at home by the Utah Royals on Saturday night. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.
Starters
Jane Campbell - 7.5
Campbell made five saves and kept Houston in the game. She remains one of the few bright lights in what has been another underwhelming season.
Allysha Chapman - 6
Even at 37-years-old, Chapman can still put in a solid shift.
Leah Klenke - 6.5
The rookie had an impressive ten defensive contributons and was able to get forward some. Klenke’s development is a promising sign for the Dash moving forward.
Paige Nielsen - 6.5
Nielsen and Klenke were very active in the center of defense, as the veteran had eleven defensive contributions of her own.
Avery Patterson - 7
Patterson got into the attack with nine passes into the final third and five touches in the opposition box, including two shots. Defensively she chipped in with three tackles and three clearances.
Danielle Colaprico - 7
Colaprico was all over the field in this match and completed 88% of her pass attempts. She also had ten defensive contributions as she remains an important piece in the Dash midfield.
Sarah Puntigam - 6
Puntigam’s passing wasn’t as good as Colaprico’s and she didn’t have as much influence defensively.
Maggie Graham - 6
Graham had just 23 touches in over 80 minutes on the pitch. She tracks back and puts in effort on both ends, the end product just has not been there this season.
Kat Rader - 6.5
Rader had just one shot, which was off target. She created one chance as well, in an otherwise quiet night for the Rookie of the Year frontrunner.
Kiki Van Zanten - 6
Van Zanten had no shots and didn’t set up any. She is a good pressing attacker in this league but outside of her two games with braces, she has been very quiet in 2026.
Kate Faasse - 7.5
Faasse only touched the ball 17 times in nearly 90 minutes. That is not all her fault as she spent most of the game coming back into midfield.
Substitutes
Natalie Hammond - 6.5
Hammond shook off some recent tough performances with a solid shift off the bench.
Khyah Harper - 6
Harper was very active up and down the right side but that final piece remains elusive.
Cate Hardin, Clarissa, Larisey, and Miljana Ivanovic - N/A
The three were on the field less than ten minutes and were unable to make an impact.
Head Coach
Fabrice Gautrat - 5
This isn’t the game that cost Gautrat his job but it ended up being the final straw. The tactics may not be working as intended but you could see an identity the Dash were trying to build. This season isn’t all on him but this game showed a stubborness in trying to continue long balls and concession of possession when this team simply doesn’t have the ability to play that way.
