Welcome to a reboot of our series that highlights you, the fans. Here is a fan that can't be missed at Shell Energy Stadium. Let's get to know him!

Name: Jesse Gutierrez

Fan since: 2006

Current Season Ticket Holder: not at the moment

Where are you originally from and what is your earliest memory of soccer?

I am originally from Estado De Mexico, and my earliest memory of soccer is from LigaMX in 1995, my favorite team Necaxa beating Cruz Azul in the final. Vamos Rayos!

Tell us a little about how you became a Houston Dynamo and Dash fan?

I have been a futbol fan all my life, and when the Dynamo and Dash came into their respective leagues it was easy to fall in love with both of the futbol teams that represent our home city.

What is your favorite Houston Dynamo memory and why?

My favorite memory would be MLS Cup in 2006 against the New England Revolution, because of the way everything turned out that first year. I had the opportunity to be there with my brothers from el Batallón rooting for our guys in orange. And just the way that game finished was wild. Lots of great memories from that day. The way Frisco was wrapped in orange, that is a day I will never forget. I went from tears of sadness when Taylor Twellman scored that first goal to tears of happiness when Pat Onstad stopped that last PK.

Any favorite memory of the Dash as they celebrate their 10-year anniversary?

My favorite memory would be their first playoff game. Houston showed up. The atmosphere was amazing, and even though it wasn’t the score everyone was hoping for, there were a lot of great memories on that day. Shout out to all the Dash players for always being so nice to my kids. Special thanks to Natalie Jacobs and Ryan Gareis.

It seems like you are leading the next generation of soccer fans in Houston. How has it been seeing your kids grow into Houston Dynamo and Dash fans?

It has been fun, just spending that quality time together and seeing my kids get excited on every goal is an amazing feeling.

What are you most excited about and what are your expectations for the clubs in 2024?

Expectations are always high, playoffs for both the Dash and Dynamo. We have great teams in Houston.

Last one, are you excited for Copa America this year and are you making any of the games?

Yes, no tickets yet, but I will be looking for tickets soon.

Our hope is that you can put a name to a face in the crowd at Shell Energy Stadium. If you’re interested in being spotlighted in our fan series, reach out to us on social media!
