Ventura County FC came to Houston this past weekend and ended multiple streaks for Houston Dynamo 2.
With the 2-0 defeat, Dynamo Dos saw its nine-match unbeaten streak at home come to an end. The loss also snapped another impressive run, as the Orange were held scoreless for the first time in 20 matches.
Ventura County opened the scoring through Gabriel Arnold, who stepped up to take a free kick just outside the box. Arnold curled his effort toward the near post, beating Roman Kerimov and giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Early in the second half, Ventura doubleed its advantage. In the 50th minute, the visitors caught Dynamo Dos on the counterattack, and Luis Müller fired a shot from outside the box that found the back of the net.
Despite the setback, Dynamo 2 will have a quick opportunity to bounce back, with two matches coming up this week.
The Orange will return home on Wednesday, August 19, when they host San Jose Earthquakes II, before traveling to face St. Louis CITY 2 on Sunday, August 23.
As always, all Dynamo Dos home matches are free for fans to attend, and you can find more information at HoustonDynamoFC.com. All matches can also be streamed on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Dynamo 2 will look to put this result behind them and get back to winning ways this week.
