Dynamo 2sday: Dos Winless Run Reaches 5 Games with Loss to Austin

Houston Dynamo 2 were unable to pull off a derby win against Austin FC II, as they lost 2-0 on Friday evening at Sabercats stadium. Dos have only pulled out one positive result in their last five games, and with playoffs fast approaching, this run of form will do little to increase confidence in their ability to make a run despite their incredible start to the season.
Dos lined up with Arthur Sousa and Austin Brummett as the two strikers in front. Samir Mohammad and Jahmani Bell were on the wings with Gilberto Rivera (who returned from loan this week) and Gustavo Dohmann occupying the double pivot. Despite setting up with an offensive-positive look, the Dynamo were once again unable to convert their opportunities into goals despite having control of the attack momentum at times.
Austin got the scoring started in the 2nd minute as Dos weren’t able to lock down Austin’s right wing, leading to a loose ball that found Lisboa Feliciano.
Dynamo 2 had a chance to equalize late in the first half when Austin Brummett was fouled in the box. But Brummett’s penalty kick was saved by Austin goalkeeper Charlie Farrar in the 40th minute.
In the 74th minute, Austin doubled their advantage thanks to Patrick Gryczewski, and although Dos continued pushing after that goal, the affair seemed pretty much wrapped up.
