2025 in review

“Big shoes to fill” turned into “the next rising star.” Raines began the season on the bench, but by April, he had earned a starting role — and never let it go. One phrase Brooklyn shared with the media was that he was “learning to be comfortable in uncomfortable positions,” which perfectly sums up his season. Early on, there were growing pains and moments when his decision-making needed refinement, but as he logged more minutes, his composure grew, and he became a vital piece for Ben Olsen in the midfield.

As the season wound down, Brooklyn represented the United States at the U-20 World Cup, where he stood out as one of the stars for the Stars and Stripes. That experience boosted his confidence upon returning to MLS play and helped him develop leadership qualities that he’ll be able to build on next season.

Moment of the season

Raines playing, and starring, in that World Cup is big not only for his career but for the club. Getting to represent your country in a World Cup, even at the youth level, is something every soccer play dreams of. Raines got to do that this season, and may have more opportunities in the future as he awaits his breakthrough into the senior US Men’s National Team.

Looking forward

2026 will be a huge year for the youngster. Raines’ name and playing style have gained recognition not only in local media circles but also among MLS reporters across the country. He’s expected to be a key starter and a vital piece for Ben Olsen, who is looking to build a strong foundation from the 2025 roster to turn around an underwhelming season. With several signings anticipated during the winter transfer window, that returning core will be essential in translating Olsen’s playing style onto the pitch.

Lastly, 2026 could be a pivotal year for Raines — one that might even set the stage for a move to a bigger stage in the footballing world. Only time and his performances will tell how long Brooklyn Raines will continue wearing Orange. We all know he’s destined for more; the question is no longer if, but when.
