HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the result:

"The plan was to have the match look like the second half. We did not do a good enough job of taking care of the ball in the first half, which did not allow us to build any rhythm. We gave up a set piece, which was disappointing, so we were chasing the game. The substitutes came in and did an incredible job in the second half. The coaches made good adjustments, and you saw what we are capable of. At halftime, it was an easy game to fold in, but this group showed some real character to come back. That is something to build on as we look to climb in the MLS standings."

On Jack McGlynn’s performance:

“Jack (McGlynn) played very well. We just needed more from the midfield, so we moved him back, gave him some freedom and brought some energy out wide. It was an offensive move that just made sense being down two goals. When (Austin FC) sit deep, playing balls at the top of the box is what we want, and I am glad that Jack ended up getting that second goal. He is versatile, and he can play in a bunch of different spots for us depending on the state of the match.”

On the momentum heading into the Vancouver match:

"We have to take confidence from the way we responded tonight. Antônio (Carlos) came in and performed at a high level. The substitutes also did a very good job, and that is something we have to recognize as we continue figuring out what the best group is. We know Vancouver is a good team, and it is a challenge we are looking forward to."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER JACK MCGLYNN

On the result:

“It shows a good fight. At the start of the game, we did not want to go down 2-0, but to fight back and dominate the second half like that, it shows that we can still do it.”

On the first half of the game:

“I do not think we had a bad first half, there were just two mistakes that cost us. We definitely had faith that we could create chances, so it is good to finally put two away. I hope we can keep that going.”

On playing deeper:

“I like (playing deeper) because it gets me on the ball more looking forward instead of being in that pocket and turning. It allows me to play the game differently, but I am comfortable playing in both areas.”

On carrying the momentum into upcoming matches:

“We have to fight, and that is what we showed tonight. It would have been easy to put our heads down and just accept that we lost this one, but we turned it around in the second half and created a lot of chances. We probably should have won the game, but we will take the point and move on.”

On a message to the Dynamo fans that traveled:

“It was amazing. We came out for warmups and heard the (Dynamo fans) over the Austin fans. The support was awesome, and we appreciated it. They helped us push on and try to get that third goal, but we are happy to be able to earn that point for them.”
