Houston Dynamo at Colorado Rapids - Staff picks

The Houston Dynamo face a road test tonight as they take on the Colorado Rapids. We asked our staff to weigh in on if the Dynamo can any points on the road tonight.

Cristian - 1-1 draw
(Record: 2-3)

These are two teams that have struggled in the scoring department and I highly doubt this game will be the start of any changes for both squads. A mild Houston against a mild Colorado ends in a draw.

Rudy - 1-1 draw
(Record: 2-3)

Houston has stayed competitive in every match this year and got a great win against Portland last weekend. I want to be optimistic and believe that Houston will get a good result in Colorado, but the Rapids are no push over. They acquired plenty of talented players during the offseason and their chemistry is building. Altitude is always a factor as well, so give me a draw in Denver.

Manny - 1-1 draw
(Record: 1-4)

Both teams have been trying to grind out results. The Dynamo come off their first win of the season while the Rapids have been unbeaten in their last 3 games. Houston has gained form but is struggling to keep players healthy and keep consistency. The Rapids are trying to get their first win at home as well. It could be a stalemate.

Joey - 1-1 draw
(Record: 2-3)

Billy - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 3-2)

Dustyn - 1-1 draw
(Record: 2-3)

This has all the makings of a 0-0 or 1-1 draw. It just feels like both teams are pretty evenly matched and will struggle to find goals. Of course, with me saying that, the game will now be 4-1 in someone’s favor because that’s just how MLS is.

Gribbs - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 0-2)

Both clubs are in a push for points early in the year to not fall too far behind. Winning on the road in MLS, let alone at a high altitude, is a tough task, but the Dynamo showed they can produce away from Shell Energy Stadium last season. I think Houston grinds out a hard fought close win and the defense keeps the Rapids off the board.
