Houston Dynamo at Minnesota United FC staff picks

The Houston Dynamo are on the road for another midweek contest. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against Minnesota United.

Cristian - 2-0 Dynamo loss
(Record: 5-12)

Houston has been underwhelming in recent matches. Despite maintaining solid possession, the team continues to struggle in front of goal. Defensively, they’ve looked uncertain during open play, and if Femi Awodesu starts again, confidence in securing a clean sheet remains low.

Rudy - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 6-11)

Minnesota is a strong team, and while Houston beat them at home last month, it’s hard to see that happening again at Allianz Field. Both teams suffered heavy losses last week, but I expect a close match with the Loons edging out a win at home.

Joey - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 5-11)

Minnesota have been a tough team to beat all season. They’re coming off a tough loss to San Diego and are looking to correct their home form against a struggling Dynamo team. Don’t expect this to be a blowout for Minnesota, but I can’t see how Houston wins this one.

Dustyn - 1-1 draw
(Record: 6-11)

The Dynamo have struggled lately but they seem to play a lot better on the road. This team has started to make a habit of getting points away from home when they aren’t expected to. I think they do that again and pull out a draw against a Minnesota team missing some key players.

Manny - 3-0 Dynamo loss
(Record 5-11)

Coming off a short break, the Dynamo will face Minnesota without their best player, Jack McGlynn. Houston already struggles to create quality scoring chances with him on the pitch, and without him against a strong Minnesota side, securing a win will be even more difficult.
