Houston Dynamo at Orlando City staff picks

The Houston Dynamo are in Florida, looking for their first road points of the season. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against Orlando City.
Cristian - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 4-1)
Both teams come into this match after much needed wins in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. When it comes to this specific match, I think Houston may slightly have the upper hand given the amount of chances created in the last few games, while also adding that their strikers have a new found confidence after scoring midweek against El Paso.
Rudy - 1-1 draw
(Record: 3-3)
Houston have shown an ability to score this season, unlike Orlando, but their defensive record and inability to keep clean sheets has been a major issue. Even in difficult away losses to Dallas and Colorado, I think Houston has played better than the results suggest. Still, the key to success here is limiting Orlando to fewer than two goals. If they can manage that, I think they can earn a point on the road.
Joey - 3-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 1-2)
Orlando have the most embarrassing defense in MLS currently and have not looked much better going forward either. The Dynamo should be able to take some good momentum from midweek into a must win game against the biggest disaster team in MLS this season.
Dustyn - 2-2 draw
(Record: 2-4)
Orlando is nothing short of a mess this season. They’ve conceded more than 3 goals per game and have only scored six times in 7 matches. With that being said, this game feels like a shootout. The Dynamo’s last two road matches have produced 15 goals combined. A win here would be big for Houston, but I’m not convinced they get over that hump just yet.
Manny - 1-1 draw
(Record 2-4)
A clash between two teams trending in the wrong direction. Orlando’s defensive struggles have been severe, while the Dynamo have looked dangerous going forward. However, despite their attacking form, Houston continues to concede too easily. It remains to be seen whether they can tighten up at the back or let another result slip away.
Juan - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record 4-2)
Houston desperately need a win, and Orlando have been putrid to start the season. Ezequiel Ponce and Mateusz Bogusz both got on the scoresheet in the Open Cup, so perhaps that’s the start of a good attacking rhythm for the Dynamo.
Dynastats - 2-0 Dynamo win
(Record 4-2)
The Dynamo get their first clean sheet and away win of the year. This Orlando team is poor and anything short of a win would be disappointing for the Dynamo. I think Ondrej Lingr gets the start and performs well.
