The Houston Dynamo scored a stoppage time equalizer to take a point home from Vancouver. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Jonathan Bond - 7

Bond made two saves and kept the Dynamo in the game early when Vancouver could have extended the lead. Obviously, he couldn’t do much about the penalty kick the Caps scored.

Griffin Dorsey - 6.5

Dorsey would have a much higher score if not for the ridiculous tackle attempt he made that gave up the penalty. Besides that moment, he had a strong game.

Antonio Carlos - 6.5

The Brazilian made his first start for the Dynamo and played a solid game. He struggled with Brian White’s off-shoulder runs at times but who in MLS has not struggled with that?

Pablo Ortiz - 7

Ortiz was good on the ball, completing 95% of his passes. He also made 8 clearances and chipped in with 2 tackles.

Felipe Andrade - 6

Andrade is still growing into this team and his role on it but his talent going forward is clear to see. He does well tracking back most of the times but can get caught out on occasion.

Artur - 8

The captain stepped up when needed most. He rifled in the equalizer in second half stoppage time to grab a much-needed point for the Dynamo.

Brooklyn Raines - 4

Raines played a decent game but then got himself sent off in the final moments. Yes, he got slammed into the bench but knocking the ball away in frustration and picking up his second yellow card is something he will learn from.

Sebastian Kowalczyk - 5.5

This is one of those games where Kowalczyk had some good spells of play but then went missing for other parts. But one thing is for sure, you can never question his work ethic.

Jack McGlynn - 6

This was a below-average game by Jack’s standards, which is still a solid performance for most. He only had 3 shot-creating actions and just didn’t seem as comfortable getting on the ball and into the attack.

Ondrej Lingr - 5.5

Lingr, like Kowalczyk, is another guy that is going to give you every ounce he has on the pitch. The end product just has not been there since his impressive debut.

Ezequiel Ponce - 3

It just isn’t clicking for Ponce. He only had 11 touches in 71 minutes before being subbed off. Ponce hasn’t scored since his brace on July 5 against San Diego.

Substitutes

Ethan Bartlow - 5

Bartlow came in for Carlos, who is still working up to 90 minutes fit. He did what was asked of him.

Amine Bassi - 7.5

He came into the match and immediately got a yellow card for a dangerous challenge. He made up for it, connecting with Artur for the game-tying goal.

Lawrence Ennali - 7.5

Seeing Ennali take players on is a sight for sore eyes. He still isn’t great at beating defenders on the dribble but the one time he did on Sunday led to the goal.

Junior Urso and Toyosi Olusanya - N/A

Neither player played enough minutes to warrant a rating.

Head Coach

Ben Olsen-7.5

After conceding an early goal the Dynamo could have let this match snowball out of control against a very good Vancouver team. Olsen, and the coaching staff, had a good game plan to withstand Vancouver’s pressure and hit them when they could.
