HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the team’s focus moving forward:

“Our focus is on the last 10 regular season games now, so we will put this tournament to bed. We learned a bit about ourselves and saw some things we wanted to see. We did not get the results that we wanted, but we are better for going through this. Now, it is about seeing what we can do to get into the postseason. That has been our goal and what we talked about on the first day here. When I first got to this Club, I talked about being a team in the postseason year after year and bringing sustainability to what we are doing here. It is still doable. There are a lot of points up for grabs, and we are looking forward to getting back to focusing on the league this week.”

On takeaways from Leagues Cup:

“We saw a lot of different guys play, and those game minutes help players. You can tweak some things when you want to see certain relationships, which provides you with useful snapshots throughout the tournament. The tricky part is trying to do that and still win games. So, I will put some of that on me, because still wanting to see new things at this stage of the season sometimes costs the team results. The message to the group is to show up at the training facility tomorrow with a different energy and let’s make a run at the playoffs with some fire in our bellies. It is not too late.”
