Houston Dynamo vs Philadelphia Union staff picks

The Houston Dynamo need a win to get momentum back on their side, but they face tough opposition tonight. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against the Philadelphia Union.
Cristian - 3-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 6-16)
Philadelphia boasts one of the league’s most dangerous attacks, led by Golden Boot contender Tai Baribo, and pairs it with the best defense in MLS. The Dynamo, meanwhile, remain a puzzling team—capable of surprises but struggling for consistency. While anything can happen on the night, it’s hard to see Houston matching up well against a confident and in-form Union.
Rudy - 4-4 draw
(Record: 8-14)
The Houston Dynamo have been wildly inconsistent — beating top-of-the-table San Diego FC on the road, then losing at home to last-place CF Montréal. So I’m going with a wild prediction: a 4-4 draw against Philly. The Union haven’t conceded 3+ goals in a match this season… but hey, why not now?
Joey - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 7-14)
The Dynamo are due a win after two straight tough loses. Philly come into this game in fine form, which for some reason is when the Dynamo show up, like they did against San Diego. Expect a hard fought close game that can go in either direction.
Dustyn - 2-0 Dynamo loss
(Record: 7-15)
This Dynamo team just looks lost at the moment. They’ve got to get things turned around at some point but, against the best team in Major League Soccer? With the way they’ve played at home this season, this could be another loss to add to what is already a club record.
Manny - 3-0 Dynamo loss
(Record 7-13)
The Dynamo hit a new low with their midweek performance. The team looked disjointed and uninspired, lacking any clear identity, while the defense appeared more vulnerable than ever. Facing the top team in MLS, this weekend’s matchup could be a rough one for Houston.
