Houston Dynamo vs St. Louis CITY SC - Staff picks

The Houston Dynamo are back at Shell Energy Stadium to try and get back in the win column. We asked our staff to weigh in on if the Dynamo can get a win against St. Louis tonight.

Cristian - 3-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 3-7)

Houston is coming off of back-to-back loses to in-state rivals and need a win tonight at home to set themselves up for the difficult string of matches ahead. A morale boost is needed for sure. You can add to that the fact that health is coming back to the squad and more minutes for HH won’t hurt anyone.

Rudy - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 3-7)

Houston is coming off of two very disappointing losses. Now, St. Louis might not be as good as they were last season but they are still a good team, staying competitive as they get healthy. The Dynamo's lack of scoring is concerning and with not a lot of information on the status of Sebastian Ferreira, it is still a mystery where goals will come from for the team. This being a home match, I favor the Dynamo to pull a win out of the Ben Olsen magic hat.

Manny - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 2-8)

St. Louis is a team that the Dynamo knows well. Both teams have changed since the Dynamo knocked them out in the Concacaf Champions Cup. The crucial part of the game is for the Dynamo to be solid in the back to contain Joao Klauss and wait for the moment to score and win the game. Plus, they’ve got to win on Star Wars night!

Joey - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 3-7)

The Dynamo are finally getting healthy and will have a fire under them to shake off those last two disappointing games. St. Louis have been leaking goals of late and have had a hard time finishing off teams. Joao Klauss will likely get on the score sheet, but it won’t be enough for St. Louis.

Dustyn - 1-0 Dynamo loss
(Record: 3-7)

We saw how even these teams are in their Champions Cup match up, with the Dynamo winning on aggregate thanks to an away goal. This game could really go either way but, for me, it comes down to the fact that St. Louis is in good form and Houston isn’t.

Gribbs - 0-0 draw
(Record 2-5)

The Dynamo have finally gotten healthier, I just think a little more time is necessary for them to find their form in front of goal. St. Louis isn't quite the side they were a year previously and traveling on the road will be difficult. I can see the Dynamo pulling this one out, but I'm not quite convinced of their offense just yet.

Billy 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record 4-6)
