The Houston Dynamo picked up a big three points, beating the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Jonathan Bond - 8

Bond made three saves, including getting down well to the bottom corner to deny Thomas Muller. The English goalkeeper’s passing was also good, completing 34 of 37.

Lawrence Ennali - 7

Ennali was in the attack a lot, often times even ahead of Guilherme. He had the most touches in the Vancouver box with eight.

Antonio Carlos - 7.5

It’s pretty remarkable how good Antonio Carlos has been for this Dynamo team since joining last season. He helped this clean sheet with seven defensive contributions.

Agustin Resch - 7

Rookies aren’t supposed to be this poised but Resch is. He’s made the Dynamo not really miss Erik Sviatchenko when he is rested or unable to play.

Felipe Andrade - 8

Andrade led the team with ten defensive contributions. He also got into the attack on numerous occasions. This was one of his best performances this season.

Artur - 7.5

Artur completed 63 of 66 passes. He also had eight defensive contributions. Another captain’s performance from the Brazilian.

Diadie Samassekou - N/A

The most important thing from Saturday night is that Samassekou is ok after suffering a very scary injury in the first half. Ben Olsen said on Monday that Samassekou is back at the Dynamo facility and going through all the concussion protocol testing.

Jack McGlynn - 7.5

McGlynn created three chances and was dropping deep a lot to get the ball on the right side. He even added four tackles on the defensive end.

Guilherme - 8.5

When you sign a Designated Player, you want what Guilherme has given the Houston Dynamo so far in 2026. He took five shots, but his last one, where he drove into the box and fired at the near post was the match-winning goal.

Mateusz Bogusz - 7

Bogusz is living in and around the box a lot. The finished product hasn’t been there as often as you’d want but he’s in the right places, so you have to think that will come.

Ezequiel Ponce - 7

Ponce had a goal disallowed for offside. He really needed that for his confidence. He could have done better on his shot in the 60th minute. In the build up, he only missed one pass in the match.

Substitutes

Agustin Bouzat - 6.5

Bouzat came on when Samassekou was injured. He isn’t the passer Artur or Hector Herrera are but this was one of his best shifts in orange.

Ondrej Lingr - 6

Lingr only had four touches. It still feels unknown in where his best position and role are for this Dynamo team.

Hector Herrera - 6

19 of 19 passes completed. The Dynamo got the winner. Just HH being HH.

Head Coach

Ben Olsen - 7.5

Olsen only made three subs, and one of them was because of the injury to Samassekou. The Dynamo had a good defensive game plan to keep Thomas Muller and Brian White at bay. The red card to Vancouver certainly helped but getting three points against a very good team is a stepping stone for another busy week.
