Three Players to Watch: Sporting Kansas City

The Houston Dynamo hit the road this weekend for a match up against old rivals Sporting Kansas City. Here are three SKC players to keep an eye on Saturday night.

Dejan Joveljic

Joveljic is the focal point of Sporting Kansas City's attack and the player Houston's back line must keep quiet. The Serbian striker has already scored eight league goals this season and is adept at finding space in the box and finishing. Joveljic is capable of changing a match, making him the biggest attacking threat the Dynamo will face on Saturday as SKC looks for an upset at home.

Manu Garcia

Garcaa is the engine that makes Sporting Kansas City's attack go. The Spaniard thrives in creating chances with his vision, quick passing, and ability to unlock defenses. He has the quality to dictate the tempo and create game-changing opportunities. Shutting him down will be just as important as containing Joveljic as the two make a lethal duo in the offensive third.

Lasse Berg Johnsen

He may not grab the headlines, but Berg Johnsen is one of Sporting Kansas City's most important players. The Norwegian midfielder provides balance by breaking up attacks and keeping possession moving with efficient passing. His ability to win the ball and control the midfield allows Joveljic and Garcia the freedom to create. If Houston wants to dictate the match, limiting Berg Johnsen's influence in midfield will be a key battle.
