Where are they now: Tyler Pasher and Morgan Gautrat

Have you ever wondered, “what ever happened with that player that used to be with Houston?” Well, we’ve got you covered. Here is an update on Houston Dynamo and Dash players who have left the club in recent years. We will highlight one from each team each week.

Tyler Pasher

The Canadian forward was signed by the Dynamo before the start of the 2021 regular season after having a strong performance with USL Championship side Indy Eleven. Pasher quickly became a fan favorite during his time with Houston after assisting Maxi Urruti on the game winning goal during the season opener against San Jose that year. The flashy winger created plenty of havoc for the opposition during his time with Houston but just couldn’t do it on a consistent basis.

Tyler was waived by Houston in the middle of the 2022 season. Pash-Money, as he was referred to by the fan base, ended his time in Houston with 39 appearances and 6 goals. He was picked up by the New York Red Bulls shortly after being waived by Houston, but unfortunately for Tyler, he was unable to break into the Red Bulls lineup and was released by the club a few weeks later.

Pasher is currently playing for Birmingham Legion in the USL Championship. Tyler was signed by the club from Alabama in 2023. Since then, he has appeared in 28 games and has scored 5 goals. He will look to help the team win their first ever USL Championship title.

Morgan Gautrat (Brian)

The American midfielder was selected with the first overall pick in the 2015 NWSL College Draft by the Houston Dash. During her 3 seasons in Houston, Morgan’s appearances were limited due to commitments with the United States women’s national team. She missed almost half of the NWSL season during her rookie year but would go on to win the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup with the United States.

Morgan’s time with the Houston Dash ended with 33 appearances and no goals scored. In August of 2017, she was traded to the Chicago Red Stars in exchange for Kristie Mewis. She spent the next 6 years in Chicago, with a short-lived stint in Europe with Olympique Lyonnais. Morgan signed a 2-year contract with Kansas City Current as a free agent ahead of the 2023 season, but only appeared in 5 games for the club.

Currently, Gautrat is with the Orlando Pride after she was traded alongside some allocation money in exchange for a 2024 international roster spot. The 31-year-old has had a fantastic international career with the USWNT, but she surely would love to add some NWSL silverware to her accolades.
