2025 in review
Allysha Chapman began the 2025 season buried on the bench, not getting any game action. That all changed after the summer break when the Canadian veteran was insterted into the starting lineup and became a mainstay for the back half of 2026.
Chapman didn’t make her first appearance until August but then made 8 starts and 11 appearances. New signing Lisa Boattin’s integration into the team was slower than expected, so Chapman held down the left back role while the Dash went on a long unbeaten run. She eventually made way for Boattin in the final few matches but Chapman’s veteran leadership, tenacity, and calmness on the ball brought a lot to the Houston lineup at a time when they needed it most.
Moment of the season
Chapman played the full match in the Dash’s 3-0 win over San Diego, and kept star winger Delphine Cascarino quiet. The veteran defender helped post a clean sheet with six clearances, two interceptions and a blocked shot.
Looking forward
Chapman is under contract next season with a mutual option for 2027. She will turn 37 in January but has no signs of slowing down. Chapman is respected by everyone in the locker room and is a great leader and mentor for the younger players on the roster. She will be a valuable piece for this Dash team as they look to make the leap to playoff contenders in 2026.
