2025 in review
Avery Patterson entered her second season with the Houston Dash determined to take another step forward — and she delivered. The young defender continues to impress with her exceptional skill, pace, and confidence on the ball. Whether driving forward to create chances or tracking back to win key duels, Patterson showed growth and maturity well beyond her years. In 22 appearances, she scored three goals, proving to be a valuable two-way threat down the flank.
While there’s still room for improvement on the defensive side — particularly in maintaining positioning and timing in 1v1 situations — Avery’s development has been one of the brightest spots for Houston this season. Her dynamic play has not gone unnoticed, as she continues to earn call-ups and opportunities with the U.S. Women’s National Team. Patterson is quickly becoming one of the most exciting young talents in the NWSL, combining flair, energy, and determination every time she steps on the field.
Moment of the season
Patterson had several memorable moments this year, including some spectacular goals, but her best performance came in a crucial win against Gotham FC. She was relentless in both attack and defense — creating danger in the final third, recovering defensively, and leading by example. It was a complete performance that highlighted just how much she’s grown since her rookie year.
Looking forward
The future is bright for Avery Patterson and the Houston Dash. Under contract through the 2027 regular season, she’s set to be a cornerstone of the team’s future. As she continues to refine her defensive craft and build on her attacking impact, Patterson’s ceiling remains incredibly high. With her talent, drive, and growing leadership presence, the hope is that she can help push the Dash to new heights — and finally break through into playoff contention in the seasons ahead.
