2025 in review
Danielle Colaprico arrived in Houston during the offseason with the task of strengthening a midfield that had struggled for balance and consistency in previous years. From the start, she became exactly what head coach Fabrice Gautrat needed — a steady, reliable, and hard-working presence in the middle of the park. Starting in all 26 regular season games, Colaprico proved to be one of the most dependable players on the roster.
Her defensive awareness and ball-winning ability stood out all season. Whether cleaning up loose balls, intercepting passes, or breaking up opposing counterattacks, she was the glue that held the midfield together. Colaprico’s chemistry with Delanie Sheehan and rookie Maggie Graham grew stronger as the season progressed, giving Houston a solid foundation to build from. While she isn’t known for flashy goals or highlight assists, her intelligence and composure made her the team’s stabilizer under pressure — always ready to regain control and transition play forward to the more attack-minded players.
Despite Houston’s ongoing struggles to consistently create and finish scoring opportunities, Colaprico never stopped grinding. Her work rate and professionalism set the tone for her teammates every matchday.
Moment of the season
Colaprico’s standout moment came in Houston’s 3-0 victory over the San Diego Wave, her former team. In that match, she was everywhere — breaking up play, dictating tempo, and covering every blade of grass. It was a perfect display of why she’s considered the motor and heartbeat of the team, quietly controlling the rhythm of the game while allowing others to shine.
Looking forward
Under contract through the 2026 season, Colaprico’s presence in the midfield remains vital for Houston’s ambitions. As roster adjustments are expected heading into next year, she’ll likely continue to be the first name on the team sheet for Gautrat. With the addition of a creative playmaker to complement her defensive strengths, Colaprico could help unlock a new level of balance and efficiency in the Dash’s midfield. Her leadership, resilience, and experience will once again be crucial as the team looks to push into playoff contention.
