2025 in review
Sheehan joined the Houston Dash as a free agent signing last December, joining two of her former Gotham teammates in Yazmeen Ryan and Abby Smith. The 26-year-old was a key cog in the Houston midfield this season, playing in all 26 league games.
She had just one goal and two assists, numbers that don’t pop off the page, but Sheehan was asked to do a lot in this Dash system and style of play. She was on the ball a lot, dictating play either by carrying the ball forward or getting into dangerous areas. Her passing numbers weren’t great and her progressive passes were very low. Her link up play with Ryan is a proven commodity and if Sheehan can add some dangerous passing into the final third into her repetoire, she could make the leap into the upper echelon of midfielders in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Moment of the season
She only scored once this season in league play but what a goal it was. Sheehan settled a clearance at the top of the box and then picked out the top corner to give the Dash a 1-0 win at Shell Energy Stadium against the Utah Royals in April.
Looking forward
Sheehan’s contract she signed last offseason has her with the Dash through 2026 with a mutual option for 2027. She played in every match last season, starting all but one, and is one of the first names on the team sheet for head coach Fabrice Gautrat. Sheehan can play in so many roles and is such a valuable piece to have on any roster. If the Dash can add some more attacking weapons this offseason it will only further Sheehan’s ability and talent in 2026.
