The Houston Dash have announced the signing of Serbian forward Miljana Ivanović from Malmö FF in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan. The 26-year-old signs with Houston through the 2028 season.
Ivanović has scored nine goals in 23 appearances at Malmö since joining them last summer. Before that, she played for England’s London City Lionesses in the 2024-2025 season and helped them earn promotion to the Barclay’s Women’s Super League.
Ivanović began her career in Serbia with Vojvodina before moving to Sweden’s Kalmar and then returning to Serbia with Mašinac. Her career began to blossom when she moved to Norway with Arna-Bjørnar where she scored thirteen goals and added seven assists in three seasons. She spent two more years in Norway with LSK Kvinner where she scored nine goals before moving to England.
On the international level, Ivanović has 35 caps for Serbia and has scored eight goals.
"Miljana is a player who brings a blend of technical quality, competitiveness and versatility to our roster. She has competed in demanding environments throughout her career and we believe her mentality and experience will be valuable additions to our group as we navigate this season and look towards the future of the organization,” Dash President of Women’s Soccer, Angela Hucles Mangano said.
The Dash will hope that Ivanović can add some firepower to a team that is still looking for a consistent threat at the number nine position. She will join the club in good form with goals in her last two matches, June 13 and 17, for Malmö.
Makenzy Robbe began the season there but her injury has led to question marks up front. Rookie Kate Faasse is growing into the pro game and Messiah Bright and Clarissa Larisey have not been able to produce. Ivanović should get a chance to make an impact right away in Houston.
