The Houston Dash picked up their first home win of 2025, beating the Utah Royals 1-0 on Friday night. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Jane Campbell – 8

Campbell was a wall in goal once again, making several key stops to earn the shutout. Her leadership from the back kept the Dash organized under pressure.

Avery Patterson – 6.5

After returning from an eye injury, Patterson showed flashes of her quality out wide. She worked hard to get back into rhythm and offered good width.

Katie Lind – 6.5

Lind held her ground defensively, staying composed and making smart clearances when the Royals pushed forward.

Paige Nielsen – 7

Nielsen brought a calming presence to the backline, reading the game well and communicating effectively with her fellow defenders.

Christen Westphal – 6

Westphal put in a steady defensive shift, though her involvement going forward was limited as she stayed focused on containing Utah’s wide players.

Maggie Graham – 7

Graham covered a lot of ground in midfield, breaking up plays and helping connect defense to attack with simple, smart passes.

Danielle Colaprico – 7

Colaprico dictated the pace of the game in midfield, showing her experience with clean distribution and smart positioning to control the tempo.

Delanie Sheehan – 8.5 (Player of the Match)

Sheehan delivered the moment of the match with a spectacular long-range strike to win the game. Beyond the goal, she was consistently creative and positive in possession.

Ryan Gareis – 6.5

Gareis stretched the Royals’ defense with her runs down the flank, helping create space for others, even though she wasn’t directly involved in the final ball.

Yazmeen Ryan – 7.5

Ryan was electric on the wing, constantly challenging her defender and whipping dangerous balls into the box that kept Utah pinned back.

Messiah Bright – 6.5

Bright battled up top, working hard to press and hold up play. Though chances were few, her movement helped open lanes for teammates.

Olivieri injected some needed energy after coming on, pushing the attack and helping the Dash close out the win.

Diana Ordoñez – 6

Ordoñez offered a strong physical presence late, battling for second balls and helping the Dash maintain possession in key moments.

Head Coach

Fabrice Gautrat – 7

Gautrat set his team up well, balancing defensive discipline with patience in the attack. His adjustments throughout the match kept the Dash in control and ultimately led to the breakthrough.
