The Houston Dash will take the field at Shell Energy Stadium for the first time in 2026 as they host Boston Legacy FC this weekend. The expansion club comes to Houston looking for its first-ever points in NWSL play. Here are three Boston players Houston should keep an eye on.
Nichelle Prince
The former Dash attacker is now in Boston as the Legacy’s captain. She’s 31-years-old now but Houston fans will know what Prince can bring to a game. She played as a wing back in Boston’s loss to Gotham last week and will likely wear a lot of hats for the expansion club this season as they grow and figure things out. Prince against Leah Klenke could be a fun battle to watch on Saturday afternoon.
Annie Karich
The American midfielder has returned to the United States after spending time in Germany with SC Freiburg. After being signed by Boston she went on loan to Club America for the remainder of 2025. Karich is still just 22-years-old but it a key piece in the Legacy midfield. She will be tasked with getting on the ball to keep possession and get Boston forward. Look for the Dash to try and disrupt and put her off her game as much as possible.
Barbara Olivieri
The Katy kid is returning to Shell Energy Stadium, this time as a visitor. She spent time as a fan of the Dash and then wearing their jersey and now she is back to try and beat Houston. Olivieri came off the bench in Boston’s first game so we’ll have to see what her role is in this match and if she’s given a start in her hometown. Whatever role she plays, the Dash will know how Olivieri can blend her phyiscality and creativity to cause headaches for Houston.
