Houston Dynamo at LAFC player ratings

The Houston Dynamo scored twice in each half in a commanding 4-1 win over LAFC. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Jonathan Bond - 7.5

Bond made four saves and there wasn’t much he could do on the LAFC goal after he dove to stop the initial shot that was blocked.

Lawrence Ennali - 8.5

Ennali continues to impress and grow into the left back role. He looks a lot like Griffin Dorsey did in his prime as that attacking full back for the Dynamo, just on the opposite side. He assisted both of McGlynn’s goals by getting into dangerous areas.

Antonio Carlos - 7

The Brazilian had 12 defensive contributions. He has become the rock of the Houston defense, especially with Erik Sviatchenko sidelined again with an injury.

Agustin Resch - 7

Resch doesn’t look like a rookie anymore. He had 13 defensive contributions in this match and some timely blocks. Resch is showing to be a steal as a third round pick in the last MLS SuperDraft.

Felipe Andrade - 7

Andrade’s 14 defensive contributions led the team. He let a runner get in behind on LAFC’s goal but was able to keep superstar Son Heung-min under wraps for most of the night.

Jack McGlynn - 9

This is what a healthy Jack McGlynn can do. His first goal was a banger off of his magic left foot. His second, a nice sweeping finish, again with that left boot. With USMNT assistant coaches in attendance, McGlynn made a great case to make the World Cup roster.

Artur - 6.5

The captain was steady, once again. Artur doesn’t do much flashy over 90 minutes but he anchors the Dynamo midfield and allows players like Ennali and McGlynn to play high in the attack.

Diadie Samassékou - 7

Samassékou has been a revelation this season. His Bundesliga pedigree had fans excited when he joined last season but he’s now comfortable and getting minutes in 2026 and is a mainstay in this Dynamo midfield.

Mateusz Bogusz - 7.5

Bogusz had nine touches in the LAFC box against his former team. It has been a slow start to the season for Bogusz but he got a goal after following up his own rebound.

Guilherme - 7.5

Every week you watch Guilherme, you get more impressed by his pace and ability to bomb forward on the wing. He scored on a deflected free kick and his counters help set up the Dynamo’s other goals.

Ezequiel Ponce - 6.5

Ponce still didn’t score but Olsen praised him after the match for what he brings to the Houston attack. He was much more involved in this match, completing 19 of 21 passes and adding four defensive contributions.

Substitutes

Agustin Bouzat - 6

Bouzat came on for the final 14 minutes and stoppage time. He helped the Dynamo see out the three-goal lead.

Hector Herrera - 6

Herrera came on in the 82nd minute but his presence was felt, even in a short cameo. He completed ten passes and drew a foul to help bleed the game out.

Ondrej Lingr, Duane Holmes, and Aliyu Ibrahim - N/A

All three came on for stoppage time with the game already in the balance.

Head Coach

Ben Olsen - 9

Olsen and the coaching staff had a brilliant game plan. LAFC controlled possession, with 66%, but the Dynamo counter-attack was ruthless. The emergence of Ennali and McGlynn finding form certainly makes things easier on a coaching staff but this Dynamo team is beginning to show that they can be among the contenders in the Western Conference this season.
