HOUSTON DYNAMO ACTING HEAD COACH JUAN GUERRA

On the match:

"Overall we are happy for our Club, for the city, for our supporters, and most importantly, happy for the players, the staff and their families. Tonight was a good night all around. Seattle is a great team. They are a top team, and at this moment, we can say they are in full form. So for us to come here tonight with a clear idea of what we wanted to do, of how we envisioned that the game was going to look here tonight, and then for the players to be able to execute that idea, it was great. So overall, we are happy about the result and for the way the team played and executed. Now, we just have to keep building on top of this."

On what the win says about the team:

"It speaks massively about the team, which is why I am happy for the players and also for their families. This is the team we are. This is the culture, the identity and the mentality that we have as a group. It is the next man up. We understand that important players stayed behind in Houston, and they were not part of the game tonight. Other players stepped up. This is what we need moving forward. This is what we are going to need when the playoffs start. We have a group that is together. We have also a group where there is internal competition, and that is for us as coaches to make sure that that internal competition stays alive, that we can push and that we can make sure we get the best out of players."

On filling in for head coach Ben Olsen:

"I am grateful and thankful to Ben (Olsen) because since day one, since the first day he called me and asked me to come here and be part of this Club and coach with him, he has always made me feel like I can coach. Even though he is the head coach and this is his team and we follow his lead, he makes me feel like a coach every day because he gives me the opportunity to coach. That has been important for me since day one. He gives me the ability to do that. And not just me, but also for all the other staff members. In these weeks when Ben is not on the sideline, I am the one here, and I am the one that is in front of the cameras and the microphones, but the work that so many do behind the scenes is massive."

On the traveling Dynamo supporters:

"It was incredible, and the reality is that back home, there were so many others supporting and pushing. So we understand that we are never alone. We understand well who we represent. All our families were watching at home. But at the end of the day, we are never alone. Our supporters always make us feel that. That is important because that creates a strong bond between us and them. That creates a massive sense of belonging for the players within the organization, the proximity with the community and everything we want to build. At the end of the day, we have to be close to each other. The stronger the bond that we have, the stronger that we are going to be on the field, and we can utilize this to fuel the players. It was massive to see the Dynamo supporters when we stepped on the field. We heard them all the time, and at the end of the game, when the referee blew the whistle and I saw the players going to the corner to celebrate with them, it was great."

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER LUCAS HALTER

On scoring his first Dynamo goal and getting the win:

"I am happy about the goal. I have been looking for it for a while and thank God I was able to score today. I already have a couple of goals in my career, but I am happy about this one. The goal makes me happy, but what makes me even happier is the three points we earned today, as well as the way we fought and battled for everything, because it was a war out there. That makes me happy because inside this locker room, we are a family."

On the defensive performance:

"It was a perfect game defensively, so I am happy because we played like a family today. We fought for every ball. We did not give up on any play. Sometimes you are not going to play beautiful soccer, but the most important thing is the three points, especially on the road, and how we got these three points was unbelievable. Everyone saw that we really are a family, fighting for each other on the pitch."

On his message to the traveling supporters:

"The message is just 'thank you.' It is a really far trip, and they were here today in the cold. They supported us the whole game, and that makes us happy and strong. We know that they support us a lot, and they are the best fans in MLS, for sure. We are happy that they will also travel to Portland because it makes us strong. The message that I have for them is that we will never stop fighting for everything, because the Dynamo are a huge club. It is a big, big team. We will not stop fighting until we get what we want, and that is to win titles."
