The Houston Dynamo are back on the road for a late-night midweek contest. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against Seattle Sounders.
Cristian - 2-2 draw
(Record: 13-9)
Because, why not? Seattle is coming off of two consecutive draws and the orange have drawn their last four games. So, once again, why not another draw?
Rudy - 2-0 Dynamo loss
(Record: 6-17)
Houston haven’t won in a while, and getting a victory in a place where they’ve never won before feels like a tall task, especially with Seattle starting to find its form. Héctor Herrera and Guilherme could get some rest, and I think that would be a smart move. I’d rather see Matthew Arana or Gilberto Rivera get some minutes to evaluate whether they can provide valuable depth for the playoff run.
Joey - 3-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 8-9)
Seattle are finally hitting some consistency with a lot of their key players returning from injury at the right time. The Dynamo can’t seem to not tie a game at the moment, but I think that comes to an end tonight against the roughest road opponent for the Dynamo.
Dustyn - 2-0 Dynamo loss
(Record: 9-14)
This feels like a bit of a throw-away for Houston. The Dynamo have never won in Seattle and this feels like a chance to rest some key players in this busy stretch of fixtures.
Manny - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record 8-13)
With the Dynamo qualified for the MLS playoffs, they travel to Seattle for a midweek match with a banged up squad. The Dynamo have struggled recently to gain a lead and maintain it. With key players on the attack that are questionable for this match, the best move will be to rest players before the playoffs start.
Juan - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record 10-10)
The Dynamo haven’t won a game in what feels like ages, and all signs point to a loss against one of the toughest environments in MLS. So, of course they’ll subvert all expectations and win thanks to a goal from Guilherme and another outstanding performance from Jonathan Bond at the back.
Dynastats - 1-1 draw
(Record 10-13)
The Dynamo are winless in 7 but have drawn 5 of those games. A lot of those draws felt like losses, but I trust this Dynamo team to get a hard fought point at Lumen Field, despite likely being without Guilherme or Hector Herrera.
