The Houston Dynamo won on the road with a 2-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.
Starters
Jonathan Bond - 8
Bond preserved the clean sheet with three outstanding saves, coming up big whenever Sporting KC threatened. One of his best performances of the season.
Lawrence Ennali - 7
Ennali worked tirelessly on both ends of the field. He moved to the right side this game and continued to impress as a wing back.
Lucas Halter - 7.5
Calm and composed at the back. Halter read the game well, won key challenges, and helped Houston record another clean sheet.
Agustin Resch - 7.5
Resch continues to impress with his maturity. Strong in the air, confident on the ball, and he rarely puts a foot wrong defensively.
Felipe Andrade - 7
Another solid defensive outing. Andrade stayed disciplined, won his duels and helped limit Sporting’s chances while contributing in possession.
Artur - 7.5
He was everywhere against Sporting KC. Artur covered plenty of ground, broke up attacks and kept Houston’s midfield ticking.
Hector Herrera - 7.5
Herrera nearly scored in the first half and once again dictated the tempo. The Mexican veteran continues to be Houston’s game manager in midfield.
Agustin Bouzat - 7.5
Bouzat pressed relentlessly, recovered possession all over the field, and was rewarded with a well-earned goal.
Guilherme - 7.5
Houston’s most dangerous attacker once again. Guilherme constantly threatened Sporting’s back line and added his tenth goal of the season with a composed finish.
Jack McGlynn - 8
Another creative performance from McGlynn. He picked out Guilherme perfectly for his fifth assist of the season and consistently created danger in possession.
Ezequiel Ponce - 5.5
Ponce worked hard and occupied defenders but couldn’t make much of an impact in front of goal. Another frustrating night for the striker.
Substitutes
Duncan McGuire - 5.5
McGuire worked hard after coming on but had limited opportunities with Houston protecting the lead.
Franco Negri, Duane Holmes, Diadie Samassekou, and Ondrej Lingr - N/A
All four came on late and helped see out the match.
Head Coach
Ben Olsen - 7
Olsen was without one of his top players in Mateusz Bogusz due to visa issues, but Houston still looked organized and avoided what could have been a trap game. Sporting KC’s red card just before halftime allowed Olsen to adjust tactically and control the second half. Overall, it was another well-managed performance from the Dynamo.
