Houston Dynamo at Sporting Kansas City staff picks

The Houston Dynamo wrap up a disappointing 2025 season tonight on the road. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against Sporting Kansas City.

Cristian - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record: 10-21)

With nothing on the line, the Dynamo will travel to Kansas City, which is always a tough time for them. I am going with the home field advantage for SKC. 

Rudy - 2-2 draw
(Record: 11-20)

The Houston Dynamo close out their season on Decision Day against Sporting Kansas City, but the outcome is already decided — no playoffs this year. It’s been a tough campaign, and at this point, it’s best to just finish it and move on. Still, this is a rivalry match, and that edge never fades, so a draw feels like the most likely result.

Joey - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 9-19)

The Dynamo will end their season with a win against a rival who has managed to somehow be worse than Houston this season. Expect this to be a flat game with neither team playing for a playoff berth anymore.

Dustyn - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 9-22)

This match puts a bow on the 2025 season, a gift that wasn’t much fun to open. While this season had plenty of lows, I think the Dynamo finish on a high and pick up a road win.

Manny - 1-1 draw
(Record 8-21)

The Dynamo close out the season against Kansas City. With both teams out of playoff contention, Kansas City have struggled to find form, while Houston will look to finish on a positive note. It could be a subdued match overall, though a few fiery moments are always possible given the derby atmosphere.
