Happy Holidays from everyone at Bayou City Soccer. While a lot of us get time off to spend with our families, enjoying everything the holiday season brings, Major League Soccer clubs are busy in the thick of their offseason. It may have been a bit of a slow start to things for the Houston Dynamo as the club begins building for 2026 but it looks like the moves are starting to pick up. Let’s look at all the rumors and reports of who is on their way to the Bayou City.

Agustin Bouzat

With the cash trade of Brooklyn Raines now completed, the Dynamo look to have found his replacement in Bouzat.

It looks like the Argentine midfielder is on his way to the Dynamo for a little under a million dollars.

Guilherme

The Brazilian winger has been a rumored Designated Player signing for a few weeks now. According to Cesar Luis Merlo, the deal is done for around $2 million.

Like Bouzat, the Brazilian winger is on the other side of 30 (he turned 30 this year, Bouzat is 31). Bringing in two veteran South Americans that look to slot into the starting eleven signals that the Dynamo are looking to compete right away to shake off the poor 2025 campaign.

Lucas Halter

The Dynamo desperately need help at center back as Pablo Ortiz’s loan looks to be coming to an end with no purchase and veterans Erik Sviatchenko and Antonio Carlos battling injuries last season. They look to be addressing that with the signing of Lucas Halter.

The 25-year-old is coming off a season where he made 33 starts as club captain for Brazil’s Vitoria in the country’s top flight. At 6 foot 1 he’s a big physical presence and is a weapon on set pieces. Halter is still very young and along with Griffin Dorsey and fellow Brazilian Felipe Andrade, can be the core of a new look Houston backline.

Dohmann

Speaking of Andrade, the Dynamo hit a jackpot when they signed him from Fluminense for Dynamo 2. They are looking to repeat that same script with another youngster from the Brazilian club.

Gustavo Dohmann is just 20 years old and has not yet broken into Fluminense’s first team. The defensive midfielder looks set to move to Houston, more than likely to play for Dynamo 2 to start. If all goes well in his development, he adds another potential successor to Artur and Bouzat in the center of midfield, along with the likes of Homegrown Sebastian Rodriguez.
