HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the result:

“We are certainly going to enjoy this one. We played very well, especially in the second half. This one felt good. It's been an emotional start to the season, but what I like about tonight is that we kept searching for more even after taking the lead. We have to make sure we punish teams after going ahead, so that was a really nice part of tonight’s match.”

On Ondrej Lingr’s performance:

“We had an idea of the type of player (Ondřej Lingr) was when we brought him in. We know he can get on the end of balls, finish calmly in front of goal and put up some great numbers. We also know that he is going to get in the box and be the extra number that we need. I’m thrilled for him. Lingr is a great guy, and he has fit in very quickly.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER ONDREJ LINGR

On the result:

"It feels amazing to contribute another goal, and it was a really important win for the team tonight. We’ve been preparing for this match the whole week, and Ben (Olsen) told us this is our time to send a message, and we made it happen. It's a derby. We fought and defended really well today."

On his goal:

"It was an amazing feeling. I made good contact with the ball, stopping it with my chest and finding the back of net. It was a great goal, and there might have been a little luck, but if you keep fighting for chances, luck will come. I'm happy about scoring and, most importantly, winning."

On fitting in with the group:

"Houston is quite different from Europe, and a new start is always difficult, but I’m grateful for the guys, staff and coaches because they have made me feel at home. For a player, that's important because sometimes it's hard to get used to a new team. My teammates have helped me a lot in feeling welcome, and I’m happy about that. The fans are amazing, and I've really enjoyed my time here so far. It's also helping me feel confident on the pitch, and I hope to continue helping my team in every aspect."
