HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN
On the result:
“It was a great moment for him (Ondřej Lingr) to score the equalizer at the end. The substitutes came in and gave us really good energy. We played at a high level for large portions of the match tonight. We are growing, creating chances and looking more like us in the way we want to play. We are just making it hard for ourselves, but it sure beats losing. But it doesn't beat winning.”
On Ondrej Lingr’s debut:
“(Ondřej Lingr) did exactly what he needed to do. You can see that he is willing to put his head in harm's way for any scoring opportunity, which was one of the things that we liked about him coming into this. We needed someone to stretch the line and be fearless in the box. It cannot just be (Ezequiel) Ponce in those kinds of scenarios. Lingr is here to provide us with options at the necessary times.”
On Jonathan’s Bond:
“(Jonathan Bond) was great. He had a very good game with a few big saves, and he looked like a seasoned goalkeeper out there. Bond has been around the block and understands our league, and he’s going to be great here.”
HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER ONDREJ LINGR
On scoring during his Dynamo debut:
“It is an amazing feeling to score in my debut here at home. Unfortunately, we only got one point, which is tough. In the end, we will take it after conceding two goals in the second half, but we for sure want to win home games.”
On why he came to the Houston Dynamo:
“I have heard a lot about Major League Soccer from friends I have here like Petar Musa in Dallas. They told me MLS has amazing competition. Also, when I spoke with Pat (Onstad), Asher (Mendelsohn) and Ben (Olsen), I really liked the project they described. So, I told myself to go for it because I wanted to try a different experience.”
On what kind of player he is:
“My whole career, I have played as an attacking midfielder or second striker. So, I’m an offensive guy, but I can play from the left or right, and I find space between the lines, while making deep runs.”
On the pitch and atmosphere at Shell Energy Stadium:
“The pitch is incredible and in really good condition. I still need to get used to the weather because it is hotter than Europe. The atmosphere in the stadium is electric, and the fans are amazing. I’m really looking forward to playing in front of them, and I’m looking forward to the next game.”
