Houston Dynamo vs Colorado Rapids staff picks

The Houston Dynamo will try and earn a second straight home win as they return to Shell Energy Stadium tonight. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against the Colorado Rapids.

Cristian - 2-2 draw
(Record: 2-6)

The Houston Dynamo have not been a threat on the attacking side of the ball this season, as they have yet to score more than one goal in any game. With the arrival of Ondrej Lingr, this team is counting on him to add to the creation of attacking opportunities. On the other side of the coin, Colorado is on a good run of form and I’m sure they will be coming down to Houston to give the Orange a good run for their money.

Rudy - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 2-6)

The Houston Dynamo are back at home—a place that’s surprisingly been tough for them to defend this season. That said, the team has been gaining confidence over the past few weeks, and the arrival of newly signed Designated Player Ondřej Lingr could be the spark they need. If the playmaker can make an immediate impact in his debut against Colorado, it could be a game-changer for the squad.

Joey - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 2-5)

The Dynamo are in their best form of the season with 4 points in their last two matches. Colorado should be a tough opponent with the likes of Djordje Mihailovic, Oliver Larraz, and Cole Bassett pulling the strings. Thankfully the Dynamo defense has looked great since Erik Sviatchenko’s return. Expect a good back and forth game that should be winnable for the Dynamo, who tend to beat Colorado when they come to town.

Dustyn - 1-1 draw
(Record: 3-5)

I might just keep picking a draw every week. Until this team can prove it can score multiple goals in a game, I remain hesitant to think they can put together a good run of form. Ondrej Lingr’s inclusion could change that, and that could even be tonight.

Manny - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record 3-5)

Will the Dynamo get their second win of the season? I highly doubt it againsy this Colorado team. The Rapids have had a good start to the season. The Dynamo should have their new signing, Ondrej Lingr, on the field this weekend, and we will see how he incorporates into the team. But, the Rapids are functioning well and will give this Houston team a run for their money.
