Houston Dynamo vs Colorado Rapids staff picks

The Houston Dynamo will try to exact some revenge on the Rapids tonight at Shell Energy Stadium. We asked our staff for their predictions on the match against Colorado.

Cristian - 2-2 draw
(Record: 6-2)

Colorado is a team that creates and is looking to bounce back. If they can put away a few of their chances against an ever-changing Dynamo backline, they might get a couple of goals. Houston also needs a good bounce back after a defeat in Austin. Can Ezequiel Ponce and Mateusz Bogusz come alive in this game to not only get “revenge” from that 6-2 loss, but also give Guilherme a hand? Will Jack McGlynn be a factor? We’ll see. 

Rudy - 2-2 draw
(Record: 3-6)

Houston will be looking to avenge the thumping Colorado handed them in the first meeting. But with yet another rotated lineup as the schedule congestion continues, Houston likely finds itself in a high-scoring draw, where neither side does quite enough to fully take control.

Joey - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 2-3)

The Dynamo will get their revenge after a terrible loss to the Rapids last month. The Dynamo seemed to have found their spark with Hector Herrera in midfield and the return of Artur. Expect the Dynamo to look sharp going forward against a vulnerable Rapids defense.

Dustyn - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record: 2-7)

Colorado comes into this match in shaky form and the Dynamo owe them from that last meeting. I look for Houston to score early and the improved defense to post another clean sheet.

Manny - 1-0 Dynamo win
(Record 2-6)

After struggling for a win in midweek, the Dynamo learned some lessons to move forward and energy to continue their momentum. Houston have gotten better and learned from their mistakes in the last outting with Colorado. They will get over the line to pick up three points tonight.

Juan - 2-1 Dynamo loss
(Record 5-4)

The Dynamo will obviously be motivated to get a result against a team that dominated them just a few weeks ago. However, Houston is still very much adjusting to yet another new shape, and Colorado seems to have their number.

The Dynamo will get revenge against Colorado for their previous game, and win all three points at home.
