HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN

On the result:

:We certainly played well enough to win that game, but in the end we came away with one point. That is on us because we have got to be better to score the second and third goals with the amount of opportunities we played ourselves into tonight. D.C. United are tough to beat because they are compact and workmanlike. They have strong set piece plays, and we fell asleep on their goal, and it ended up costing us two points. You can look at that, but let’s not skirt the responsibility of scoring goals and putting teams away when we have them at home in the heat.”

On Duncan McGuire and Ezequiel Ponce:

“Both of them understood the game plan and helped us out defensively. We will keep pushing them to get more looks and create more opportunities.”

On facing his former club D.C. United:

“I was there for 20 years. My kids grew up there, and it is a special city. It is the nation's capital in a great place with a great club. For me, there is always a little bit of something special when I play against them. But each year that goes by, like anything, it is a little less special.”

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD DUNCAN MCGUIRE

On making his Dynamo debut:

“The team has made me feel welcome, so I felt good about getting my first Dynamo game under my belt. We were unlucky with the result. We felt like we should have come out with three points with how good of a game we put together. Overall, I was excited to get my first minutes, and hopefully we can get three points on Saturday."

On getting comfortable in Houston’s system:

“Coming into a new environment is a little challenging at first, but when you get on the field, it feels different, and tonight, the guys behind me did a great job of communicating where I was supposed to be on the field. From when I should be pressing to when I should be holding and what spots I should be occupying. Overall, I am happy with how my first game went."

On the fan support:

“I felt the crowd behind us and their chants. I could hear them on the field, which is usually a hard thing. Usually, you are focused on the game, but there were moments where I could hear the chants and the drums. It is always important for the team to get the crowd behind us."
