HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH BEN OLSEN
On the set piece goal:
"(Antônio Carlos) got his head on a few. We had eight corners, and we were fairly dangerous on a lot of them. Unfortunately, we gave one up on the other end, and that is something that continues to haunt us. San Jose is a team that can score goals, and you try to limit them, and to beat them you have to score two goals. It is that simple. It was a pretty even game to my recollection, but they just made more of the important plays than we did."
On the locker room atmosphere:
“We like to win, and that helps the atmosphere. The last couple of weeks have been pretty good. We built some momentum and got two good road results. We are in these games, and at times we are playing at a good level, but we are just not making those plays that really change the game. It is disappointing and frustrating, and I feel for the guys because they are working hard. They are trying to follow game plans, and they are giving everything they have, but things are not really going in the right way for us. Ultimately, that is on me. We are not out of this thing. I have been in MLS long enough to know that you can make a run, but we have got to clean some things up."
HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER ANTONIO CARLOS (TRANSLATED FROM SPANISH)
On his first goal with the Dynamo:
“I am proud of the goal, but of course, we wanted the victory. We are going to fight until the end. This result made it a little difficult in our push for playoffs, but we know the potential that this group has, and we are going to fight together and qualify for the playoffs.”
On what he brings to the team:
“I want to help the young players. I also want to help Ben (Olsen), the coaching staff and everyone on the team earn points. We have had good matches on the road, but at home, which are the most important matches, we have not earned the points we want. We know we can be strong at home, and I am here to help the team earn those points. We must now go into these next matches with a better mentality to qualify for the playoffs.”
