The Houston Dynamo are back at home to celebrate the club’s 20th anniversary. We asked our staff for their predictions on tonight’s match against the Seattle Sounders.
Cristian - 3-2 Dynamo win
(Record: 3-8)
The Dynamo are on an upward trend, but Seattle is strong as well. I’m expecting a goal fest, with the Dynamo winning it on pure momentum and crowd involvement.
Rudy - 2-1 Dynamo win
(Record: 4-7)
I expect Seattle to come out strong tonight and try to spoil the celebration at Shell Energy Stadium. But with the roar of the crowd and former Dynamo players in attendance, the emotion will swing in Houston’s favor. The Dynamo will fight until the final whistle to secure a much-needed victory over the Sounders.
Joey - 2-2 draw
(Record: 3-7)
The Dynamo historically have struggled against Seattle whether its home or away. Seattle are getting hot and the Dynamo seem to have somewhat figured out their offense with the addition of Ondrej Lingr. Expect an exiting game between two teams who are both not where they want to be in the standings.
Dustyn - 1-1 draw
(Record: 5-6)
The good vibes will be flowing inside Shell Energy Stadium with the club’s 20th anniversary celebration. On the field, the Sounders are much more rested since they aren’t in the US Open Cup. The Dynamo will dig deep and find enough for a point in this one.
Manny - 2-0 Dynamo loss
(Record 3-7)
The Dynamo had an impressive midweek win, but the lingering doubt is the toll of extra time, which could impact the team this weekend. Seattle, in great form and fully rested, will look to capitalize on a fatigued Dynamo side during the club’s celebrations.
