The Houston Dash fell 3-0 on the road against the Kansas City Current. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.
Starters
Jane Campbell - 4
Campbell had a rough outing and made a costly decision that resulted in an own goal early in the match. She made a few routine saves afterward, but Houston struggled to recover from the poor start.
Allysha Chapman - 5
Chapman worked hard defensively and brought experience to the backline. She had a few solid recoveries and tackles but was limited in her impact going forward.
Malia Berkley - 5.5
Berkely delivered a steady performance in central defense, making several clearances and helping deal with pressure in the box. Houston’s backline still looked vulnerable during key stretches.
Paige Nielsen - 5.5
Nielsen was one of Houston’s more reliable defenders, competing well physically and helping organize the backline. She also contributed with a few important defensive interventions.
Avery Patterson - 5.5
Patterson stayed active defensively and helped track runners out wide. Offensively, however, she struggled to consistently create dangerous moments in the final third.
Kat Rader - 5.5
Kat Rader showed good movement in the attacking half and worked hard pressing defensively. She had a few promising moments but lacked support in the final third.
Danielle Colaprico - 6
Colaprico provided composure and experience in midfield, working hard defensively while helping Houston maintain possession during stretches of the game.
Cate Hardin - 6
Hardin brought energy and intensity in midfield, helping Houston win possession back and connect play through the center of the pitch.
Maggie Graham - 6
Graham stayed active in midfield and continued to help push Houston forward, but she was not particularly sharp with her passing throughout the match. While she showed energy and willingness to progress the ball, several misplaced passes disrupted promising attacking moments.
Linda Ullmark - 6
Ullmark had a solid shift in midfield, helping circulate possession and providing defensive cover when Houston was under pressure.
Kate Faasse - 5
Faasse struggled to consistently connect with the midfield and found it difficult to create quality opportunities in front of goal.
Substitutes
Lisa Boattin - 5.5
Boattin added energy and width after coming on, helping Houston move the ball into attacking areas late in the match.
Leah Klenke - 6.5
Klenke made a strong impact off the bench and brought energy to both sides of the ball. She looked dangerous going forward and helped improve Houston’s intensity.
Emina Ekic - 5.5
Ekic added creativity and directness after entering, attempting to take defenders on and create attacking opportunities.
Sarah Puntigam - 5.5
Puntigam brought composure and experience in midfield, helping Houston settle possession during the second half.
Sophie Schmidt - 6
Schmidt made her return from injury. She came on to help the attack and added energy in advanced positions as Houston searched for a way back into the match.
Head Coach
Fabrice Gautrat - 5
Gautrat emphasized the importance of the match against a difficult opponent, but Houston’s poor start proved too much to overcome. The early own goal followed by a second concession put the Dash in a difficult position, and the continued lack of attacking creativity remains concerning. At this point, Houston’s strong start and apparent cultural shift are beginning to feel more like an anomaly as the team keeps slipping down the standings.
