The Houston Dash conceded seconds into the second half and lost to Gotham FC 1-0. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Jane Campbell - 7

Campbell made two saves and dove the right way on Sam Kerr’s missed penalty in the first half. There wasn’t much she could do on Gotham’s goal.

Lisa Boattin - 6

Boattin’s passing wasn’t great and she missed a good crossing opportunity early in the first half. Her defensive contributions were good but Houston will want more from her on the offensive end.

Leah Klenke - 6

Klenke conceded the penalty with a clumsy challenge. Outside of that, she played well, with seven defensive contributions.

Paige Nielsen - 7

Nielsen was as steady as ever. She even got forward into the attack and had two shots from distance when set pieces rebounded out to the top of the box.

Avery Patterson - 7

Dealing with Jaedyn Shaw all night is a tough task but Patterson did well. She contributes so much to this team on both ends of the field.

Danielle Colaprico - 6.5

Colaprico was anchored in the middle of the field to try and keep Gotham at bay and slow their transition. She wasn’t on the ball much but played an important role defensively.

Maggie Graham - 6.5

Graham’s passing is still hit-or-miss at times. She completed just 20 of 33 in this match. But defensively, she was a rock, pitching in seven defensive contributions.

Linda Ullmark - 6

It was a quiet night for the rookie with only 19 touches in her 55 minutes on the field. Young players will have games like this, expect Ullmark to bounce back next week.

Kat Rader - 7

Rader was everywhere in this match. Up and down both flanks and creating in the middle. The Dash didn’t score but if they want their offense firing, they need Rader at the center of it.

Kiki Van Zanten - 6

Van Zanten’s goal drought continued. She worlks hard in the attack, looking to create for herself and others, the end product just isn’t there right now.

Kate Faasse - 5.5

Faasse only had 13 touches. She had a good shot in the second half that Gotham goalkeeper Shelby Hogan made a save on.

Substitutes

Allysha Chapman - 6

Chapman added a spark on the left hand side after coming on.

Khyah Harper - 7

Harper was impressive on her Dash debut. She has some pace and drive to her game that Houston fans will want to see more of going forward.

Sophie Schmidt - 6

Schmidt was thrown into the attack and was able to help the Dash create some chances, although nothing came of them.

Clarissa Larisey - 5.5

Larisey couldn’t get on the ball much and wasn’t a factor in her 23 minutes on the field.

Sarah Puntigam and Malia Berkely - N/A

Both came on late. Puntigam did have a shot from distance in stoppage time that Hogan saved.

Head Coach

Fabrice Gautrat - 6.5

The Dash played the defending champions well, outside a blip in concentration in the first thirty seconds of the second half. The offense struggled to create but there are positives Gautrat and the staff can take from this match, even after a loss.
