The Houston Dynamo lost again, falling 6-2 against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night. Let’s take a look at how everyone performed.

Starters

Jonathan Bond - 4.5

A rough night for Bond. He looked shaky throughout and never inspired confidence from the back. At this point, the struggles are becoming a pattern, and Houston needs more stability in goal.

Duane Holmes - 7

Holmes was one of the few bright spots. He put in a solid shift and even came close to scoring with an effort that hit the post. Reliable and active throughout.

Erik Sviatchenko - 5

Not Erik’s night. The veteran struggled to keep things organized at the back as Colorado found space and took advantage.

Felipe Andrade - 3

A very difficult night for Andrade. While some of it came from being left exposed, he still struggled defensively and couldn’t recover. He also scored an unfortunate own goal. One to forget.

Antonio Carlos - 5

Antonio Carlos had a chaotic performance. He was often out of position and chasing plays, which made things even harder for the rest of the back line.

Lawrence Ennali - 7.5

Ennali was dangerous going forward and grabbed a goal, which will stand out. But defensively, there were major gaps. At times, it felt like Houston was playing a man down on that side.

Diadie Samassékou - 6

Samassékou did his job defensively, breaking up plays and trying to disrupt Colorado’s rhythm. But the connection going forward just wasn’t there.

Agustin Bouzat - 6

Bouzat continues to look uncomfortable in this setup. He was pulled out of position too often, though it was encouraging to see him take a few shots from distance.

Mateusz Bogusz - 6

Bogusz looked frustrated all night. He struggled to connect with teammates and his body language showed it. He had a few attempts, but Houston needs more from their biggest signing.

Guilherme - 9

Guilherme continues to be the one constant. Even in a poor team performance, he found a way to make an impact, scoring late and showing his quality once again.

Ezequiel Ponce - 5

Another poor outing for Ponce. His hold-up play wasn’t as sharp, and he never looked threatening in front of goal. The frustration is starting to show.

Substitutes

Aliyu Ibrahim - 6

Aliyu came on and tried to bring some energy to the attack. He used his pace to push forward and offered a different look, but the game was already slipping away.

Hector Herrera - 6

Herrera entered with Houston already down 3–0, looking to calm things down. He helped slightly with possession but also conceded a late penalty that added to a frustrating night.

Agustin Resch - 6

Resch came on quickly found out that defending talent players like Georgi Minoungou is no easy task.

Nick Markanich and Ondrej Lingr - N/A

Both came on late with little time to make an impact as the match was already decided.

Head Coach

Ben Olsen - 4

Olsen admitted after the match that the team didn’t look mentally ready, and it showed. The setup never seemed to click, and sticking with the current approach despite struggles will raise questions. Three straight losses now, and the pressure is starting to build. A response is needed soon.
